Entry formalities for Indian Nationals:
All Indian nationals need no permit to visit Andaman Islands. But permission is necessary to visit Nicobar Islands, which are given only in exceptional cases. Application may be addressed to the deputy commissioner, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Port Blair.
Entry formalities for Foreign Nationals:
All foreigners have to obtain a valid Indian visa to enter Andaman Islands. Foreign nationals can stay up to 30 days in Andaman Islands. They may also extend their stay after obtaining permission from immigration authorities on arrival in Port Blair. The places allowed for night halt are port Blair, Baratang, Havelock Island, Diglipur, Neil island, south Andaman Island, middle Andaman, Little Andaman island [except tribal reserve], long island.
The places allowed for day halt are south Cinque island, Ross island, Narcondum island, interview island, brother island, sister island and Barren island.[barren island can be visited on board vessels only.] Foreigners are not allowed to visit Nicobar Islands.
